Ofrenda Mini Candle

Sale price$16.00

OFRENDA ("offering") is a Mexican tradition of setting up an altar on Dia de Los Muertos, Day of the Dead, for those we have lost. Altars are decorated with marigolds to honor and welcome the souls of the dead home. It is a celebration to honor our loved ones that have transitioned from our world to the next; a time to grieve our loss and celebrate the lives that were lived. Ofrendas are put up on October 30th and 31st and are taken down November 2nd. This fragrance is both cozy and strong, a unisex scent that matches the warm wood of a mahogany altar with the floral musk of marigolds and top notes of bergamot to round it out.

Each candle is made from an all natural coconut soy blend, high quality fragrance oils, and an all cotton wick.

Fresa was named as a reclamation of the Mexican slang used to negatively describe a stuck up girl, one that is spoiled and never satisfied. A nickname my parents gave me, one my Mom still uses, made popular in the 90s with the song Niña Fresa that I loved as a toddler (still do tbh). As a brand + business + literal representation of me and my values, Fresa will always stand for women and fight for the oppressed, for those whose lights have been dimmed and those that are unable to fight for themselves. —Bex Galvan, Founder + Principal Designer
